Aquest treball té com a objectiu analitzar dues grans expedicions polars que es van fer a l’Antàrtida a principis del segle XX, liderades per Roald Amundsen i Robert Scott. L’essència del treball està en com dues expedicions que tenien el mateix fi en comú, el Pol Sud, van arribar a ser tant diferents una de l’altre. El resultat és que una va tenir èxit i l’altre va fracassar, ja que en una de les expedicions van acabar morint una part dels homes. Amb aquest anàlisis doncs, trec les conclusions sobre quins errors van cometre que els va dur al fracàs, com quins encerts van fer per aconseguir l’èxit.
