Turismo religioso e event management

Abstract

Malgrado le classificazioni ormai riconosciute e validate a livello internazionale, il turismo resta un “oggetto” – sia economico sia geografico, sociale, istituzionale nonché manageriale - dai contorni piuttosto sfumati in cui entità e complessità faticano a farsi definire e comprimere in confini dettagliatamente disegnati e misurati. Non facilita la definizione e il disegno concettuale il sovrapporsi dei significati di turismo entro il perimetro, progressivamente sempre più ampio, del tempo libero, del tempo del divertimento (leisure) e, visto dal lato della industry dei contenuti, dell’entertainment. Il viaggio stesso ormai può ricomprendere praticamente tutte le forme di attività di ricreazione da tempo libero: ma il viaggio, quando diviene permanenza nella destinazione diviene “contenitore” di attività tipicamente di intrattenimento. Pensiamo alla fruizione dell’arte, quindi dei beni culturali e dei relativi prodotti di merchandising, come della fruizione delle performing arts, come – ancora – della pratica o della fruizione di attività sportive e di partecipazione ad eventi. Nel caso del turismo religioso, il pacchetto dell’offerta turistica dovrà prevedere in alternativa o in combinazione fra loro: fattore “religione più vacanza svago” (sole e spiagge, direbbe Eurobarometro; fattore “religione più business”; fattore “religione più cultura ed eventi”. Cionondimeno gli itinerari del turismo religioso e, per meglio dire, del turismo del “fenomeno religioso” sono sempre più spesso configurati come tali per seguire motivazioni artistico-culturali assolutamente complementari alla motivazione della fede. Questo articolo si propone pertanto di indagare il fenomeno “turismo religioso” come un segmento di offerta di risposta al bisogno di una scoperta-riscoperta del rapporto uomo-Dio come fonte di religiosità a valenza esistenziale; di pellegrinaggio culturale come occasione di socializzazione; di ricerca ecumenica di valori basici come la pace, la fratellanza, le diversità, il rispetto del patrimonio artistico-culturale dei popoli così come di viaggio a scopo ludico-ricreativo. Gli eventi - rinnovato strumento e contenitore di strategie di marketing e di comunicazione - divengono pertanto fonte di attrattività turistica anche per un settore che fino a poco tempo fa veniva letto solo attraverso la lente del coinvolgimento teologico e fideistico.
