Abstract

Es bien sabido que uno de los puntos críticos a tener en cuenta en el diseño de vigas armadas son los fenómenos de inestabilidad del alma, que suceden cuando se alcanza la conocida como tensión crítica de abolladura. Con el fin de aumentar el valor de dicha tensión es habitual el empleo de rigidizadores transversales y /o longitudinales. Hasta el momento la forma habitual de abordar el estudio de la abolladura es, de manera conservadora, mediante el empleo de modelos a base de paneles de alma simplemente apoyados en sus cuatro bordes. Existen algunos estudios y teorías para tener en cuenta las condiciones de contorno reales de las vigas, es decir, para contabilizar tanto la presencia de rigidizadores longitudinales como la influencia positiva de las alas de la viga, las cuales aportan cierto grado de empotramiento a los extremos superior e inferior de los paneles. Sin embargo son muy escasos los trabajos que tienen en cuenta la influencia de las condiciones de contorno y la rigidización longitudinal a la vez.
