Abstract

En la presente tesina se pretende hallar un predictor simple de los cambios del perfil de la playa debido al transporte transversal, teniendo en cuenta el gran dinamismo de las playas de arena. La importancia de estos cambios reside en el retroceso o avance del perfil de playa que implica disminución o aumento del ancho de playa visible. Es un tema que cobra cada vez más relevancia no sólo a nivel de ingeniería de costas, sino también a nivel medioambiental y social, tanto por motivos turísticos como por los desperfectos ocasionados en paseos y otras obras en el frente marítimo por disminución o desaparición de la playa preexistente. Este dinamismo de la costa se traduce en transporte de sedimento en sentido longitudinal y transversal. Si bien se tienen herramientas simples para evaluar el transporte longitudinal, en el caso del transversal no están tan extendidas. Esto es debido a que tradicionalmente se le ha dado mayor importancia al transporte longitudinal que al transversal, a pesar que el segundo también sea importante sobretodo bajo la acción de las tormentas.
