Abstract

[ANGLÈS] The objective of this thesis is to support the development of wireless sensor network (WSN) testbed in aircraft onboard network. This topic is currently having quite a lot of attention as airlines and aircraft manufacturers are interested in reducing the amount of cables that are required to wire the thousands of sensors and actuators installed in many locations inside the aircraft. Currently tens of kilometers of cables are required to wire these sensors. Cutting off the cables and replacing them with wireless technology means significant reduction in aircraft weight and fuel requirements, which in turn optimizes airline operational costs and environmental impacts.

[CASTELLÀ] El objetivo de este proyecto final de carrera es dar soporte al desarrollo de una red de sensores sin cables para un aircraft. Este tema presta cierto interés actualmente a los fabricantes de aircraft por tal de reducir la cuantidad de cables que requieren para cablear los miles de sensores y actuadores instalados a múltiples localizaciones dentro de los aircraft. Actualmente se precisa desenas de kilómetros de cables por tal de cablear estos sensores. Eliminar este cableado y substituirlo por tecnología “wireless” significa una reducción del peso del aircraft y de los requisitos de combustible, el cual optimiza los costes y el impacto ambiental.

[CATALÀ] El objectiu d’aquest projecte final de carrera es donar suport al desenvolupament d’una xarxa de sensors sense cables per un aircraft. Aquest tema presta cert interès actualment als fabricants de aircraft per tal de reduir la quantitat de cables que requereixen per cablejar els milers de sensors i actuadors instal·lats a múltiples localitzacions dins dels aircraft. Actualment es requereix desenes de kilòmetres de cables per tal de cablejar aquests sensors. Eliminar aquest cablejat i substituir-lo per tecnologia “wireless” significa una reducció del pes del aircraft i els requisits de combustible, el qual optimitza els costos i el impacte ambiental.

Proyecto realizado en Empresa TriaGnoSys Wessling (Alemania) para la realización de un prototipo de Aircraft Wireless Sensor Network.
