Abstract

We have been studying the response of the Platanus X acerifolia in four different kinds of soils: local soil (T1), Amsterdam soil (T2), vegetal soil (T3) and improved local soil (T4); as well as the influence of three improvements in the plantation hole: layer of gravel in the bottom (B), adjuvant product applied with irrigation (C), and the contribution of hydrogel (D). This study analyzes the effects of the influence of the improvements. We have determined quantitative and qualitative parameters of both the aerial part of each tree and its root systems. In the aerial part we have counted the number of branches, measured the length of each one, counted the number of leaves and fruits and weighted each of these parameters. For the root system, we have calculated the number, length, volume and weight of primary, secondary, tertiary and slim roots of each tree. The results show that the addition of polyacrylamide gel (D improvement) and surfactant applied by irrigation (C improvement) increase in growth parameters. The results in the root System shows that the addition of polyacrylamide gel (D improvement) increase in weight, volume and length of slim roots.
