La arquitectura vinícola modernista: bodega de Rocafort de Queralt, historia y arquitectura

Abstract

Este proyecto final de grado pretende realizar un estudio de la bodega situada en Rocafort de Queralt. Realizada en diferentes fases, en los años 1918, 1931 y 1948, bajo la dirección del arquitecto Cèsar Martinell i Brunet. El objetivo de este proyecto es documentar histórica y arquitectónicamente el edificio modernista de uso agrario proyectado por el arquitecto Cèsar Martinell, conocido como el arquitecto de las catedrales del vino. La bodega de Rocafort de Queralt es la primera bodega proyectada por Cèsar Martinell, sirviéndole de referencia para el resto de bodegas que realizó posteriormente, concretamente más de cuarenta bodegas de estilo modernista entre los años 1917 y 1924. La creación de tantas bodegas en ese periodo coincide y está relacionado con la creación en Cataluña de la Mancomunitat de Catalunya, institución que ayudó a mejorar tecnológica y económicamente a la agricultura, promoviendo la creación de sindicatos y cooperativas agrícolas.
