Abstract

La problemática de salud laboral y medioambiental que presenta el tricloroetileno (TCE: R40, 45, 52/53) ha condicionado en gran medida los esfuerzos realizados para su sustitución. Uno de los procesos afectados es la mezcla con ligantes, en donde el tricloroetileno se utiliza como disolvente del ligante (ácido esteárico, HSt (CH3 (CH2)16COOH). Una alternativa continuista consiste en cambiar el disolvente manteniendo el mismo ligante, alternativa que se ha hecho realidad en la nueva instalación de mezcla con ligantes y que supone un costoso proceso de recuperación del nuevo disolvente utilizado, un hidrocarburo volátil sin los problemas de salud del tricloroetileno, el Abzol (compuesto de bromuro de n-propilo (C3H7Br):R10, 20) pero con un coste muy elevado. Este nuevo hidrocarburo está sometido igualmente a la legislación a aplicar a partir de octubre del 2007, en la que se penalizará a las empresas por la porción de cualquier disolvente orgánico volátil que se emita a la atmósfera (Real decreto 117 / 2003). La otra alternativa por la que se ha decantado el departamento de I+D ha consistido en un cambio radical del sistema, planteando desde la base de un disolvente universal y sin conflictos legales como es el AGUA. El uso del agua como disolvente obliga a seleccionar no sólo el ligante sino también el lubricante de la mezcla más adecuados. Este proceso ha sido desarrollado internamente en el laboratorio de I+D obteniéndose finalmente unos productos que utilizados en la mezcla con ligantes muestran una excelente capacidad antisegregante de grafito, un buen comportamiento como lubricante y dotan a la mezcla de una elevada resistencia en verde, todo ello en condiciones de proceso asumibles para la instalación AMES es un grupo dedicado a la pulvimetalurgia: fabrica piezas de metal inicialmente en polvo a través del proceso de sinterización.
