Maximización del valor actual neto en redes ópticas

Abstract

En este trabajo se utilizan técnicas de investigación operativa y estadística para desarrollar una herramienta útil en la toma de decisiones en empresas de telecomunicaciones. Se comparan dos esquemas de particionamiento aplicables en redes ópticas, y se busca encontrar bajo qué circunstancias, un esquema es mejor que otro. De la misma forma se define el diseño de red, que otorgue un mayor beneficio, dadas unas posibles ubicaciones que representan lugares demandantes de conexión. La comparación entre ambos esquemas de particionamiento se realizará en términos económicos utilizando el Valor Actual Neto (VAN). Puesto que la expresión del VAN es una función no lineal, se da solución mediante un modelo estadístico que explica la intensidad que ha de ser insertada en una red. Finalmente el problema OVALO (Optical network net present VALue Optimization) otorga como solución, un diseño de red que maximiza el beneficio total en valor actual de una inversión a largo plazo.
