The existing relations between the social and economical characteristics of Valencia's towns and their electoral behaviour in the 1979 legislative election, are ana1ysed. Both electoral behaviour and social and economical characteristics are synthesised in a reduced number of factors and interpretable components, through techniques of correspondences' factorial analysis and principal components analysis. Later the relations existing between electoral factors and social and economical components are quantified by means of the technique of weighted regression.
