Disseny i optimització metològica de sistemes telemàtics interactius per a la millora de la docència universitària : l'entorn BSCW i nous recursos docents

Abstract

We have designed and produced a multimedia resource for students of the obligatory subject ‘Natural sciences and its didactics’, entitled ‘Human feeding and nutrition and its didactics’. The basic goal was to design and optimise methodologies for interactive telematic systems based on the cooperative work platform BSCW (Basic Support for Cooperative Work), and we focused on the improvement of teaching at a university level. This course is part of the curriculum for Primary School degree Teacher. The multimedia resource is formed by two units: a) Feeding and nutrition; b) Teaching-learning of human digestion from a constructivist perspective. http://www.ub.edu/didactica_ciencies/mqd06/. This resource is directed to the improvement of the initial formation of future teachers, and has a clear constructivist approach; we developed nodes of contents and information search as well as interactive exercises of misconception detection, tailored to achieve conceptual changes. A final interactive activity was also offered for final assessment. Each unit finishes with a concepts map of the contents developed in the unit. The methodology employed in its production is an evolution of what is used by the Pompeu Fabra University team in the webs ‘Aracné, Science in net’: http://www.edu365.com/aulanet/aracne/ (user code and password: guest100), and which was improved in ‘Ideas and links in the XX Century, Science’: www.xtec.es/aulanet/seglexx/, a result of collaboration with professors in our teaching innovation group. This teaching material has been uploaded to Internet by means of the BSCW platform to be at the disposal of students. This group has a basic and fundamental importance in the assessment of the didactic material, because it allows us to detect the weaknesses and strengths of the product, so we could prepare a new version of the resource in the near future. Duration of the project: two years.
