Olympic education experiences: the sponsorship in the promotion of Olympic values

Abstract

This text was presented at the 16th International Seminar on Olympic Studies for Postgraduate Students that was organised by the International Olympic Academy in Ancient Olympia, from 1st to 30th July 2008. First here are reported, fundamental concepts on Olympics such as the Olympic values and the educational mandate of Pierre de Coubertin, the Olympic brand and symbols, the sponsorship and the Olympic partner programme. Then there is a chapter regarding the Top sponsors educational initiatives on Olympic values, and specially, describing the Olympic sponsors involvement in education and Top sponsors educational activities. And finally, the author analyses the sponsorship role in the promotion of Olympic Values Education, providing conclusions, comments on future and perspectives and some recommendations. Este texto fue presentado en el décimosexto Seminario internacional sobre estudios olímpicos para los estudiantes graduados, que fue organizado por la Academia Olímpica Internacional en la antigua Olimpia, del 1 al 30 de julio de 2008. En primer lugar, en él se exponen conceptos fundamentales del Olimpismo como los valores olímpicos y el mandato por la educación de Pierre Coubertin, la marca y los símbolos olímpicos, el patrocinio y el programa olímpico asociado. Después el siguiente capítulo trata de los máximos patrocinadores de las iniciativas educativas en valores olímpicos, y en especial, se describen la implicación de los patrocinadores olímpicos en la educación y a los máximos patrocinadores de las actividades educativas. Y finalmente, se analiza el papel del patrocinio en la promoción de la educación de los valores olímpicos y se aportan conclusiones y comentarios sobre el futuro, las perspectivas y algunas recomendaciones. Aquest text va ser presentat en el setzè Seminari internacional sobre estudis olímpics per als estudiants graduats, que va ser organitzat per l'Acadèmia Olímpica Internacional a l'antiga Olimpia, de l'1 al 30 de juliol de 2008. En ell s'exposen en primer lloc, conceptes fonamentals de l'Olimpisme com els valors olímpics i el mandat per l’educació de Pierre Coubertin, la marca i els símbols olímpics, el patrocini i el programa olímpic associat. Després el segon capítol tracta dels màxims patrocinadors de les iniciatives educatives en valors olímpics, i en especial, s'indiquen la implicació dels patrocinadors olímpics en l'educació i els màxims patrocinadors de les activitats educatives. I finalment, s'analitza el paper del patrocini en la promoció de l'educació dels valors olímpics i s'aporten conclusions i comentaris sobre el futur, les perspectives i algunes recomanacions.
