Abstract

Se confirma la presencia de la fase cúbica del sulfuro de mercurio (Metacinabrio) en los yacimientos de Almadén y Entredicho. Se describen su paragénesis y morfología asi como los resultados de la caracterización por microscopia convencional (incluyendo microscopia por reflexión), difractometría de Rayos-X y Energía Dispersiva de Rayos-X (EDS). A pesar de la ausencia de la fase cúbica en la mineralización intergranular de las cuarcitas, la presencia de Metacinabrio deberla ser considerada en la mineralogénesis global del criadero. global del criadero.

The presence of Metacinnabar is undoubtably established in Almadén and Entredicho mercury ores. Morphology and paragenesis are described and the results of characterization by conventional microscopy (including reflection microscopy), X-Ray difractometry and X-Ray dispersive energy (EDS) are expressed. In spite of the absence of the hexaedral phase in the intergranular mineralization of quartzites, the presence of Metacinnabar in the carbonated veins mustbe considered in general ore mineralogenesys in the Almadén district.
