La restauration de la ripisylve : concepts et exemples de travaux en climat méditerranéen.

Abstract

Les "concepts de restauration", doivent être adaptés à la typicité des rivières à climat méditerranéen (étiages très sévères, absence de crues sur de longues périodes). Les crues y sont particulièrement violentes et dissipent leur énergie de façon spectaculaire, au détriment de la végétation ripicole, et ceci de façon aléatoire. La restauration des ripisylves dans ce contexte doit être prudente et respecter des règles précises (mesures d'aménagement souples, techniques végétales ). Les différentes stratégies qui pourront être envisagées devront en outre s'appuyer sur : - une excellente connaissance du fonctionnement du cours d'eau ; - une évaluation précise des causes du désordre morphologique qui a conduit à la demande de restauration ; - une évaluation précise des usages des terrains riverains et des enjeux de protection. Plusieurs exemples illustrant cette "philosophie" sont présentés.
