Influence de la ripisylve sur l'écosystème aquatique.

Abstract

Autrefois, les cours d'eau étaient considérés comme des systèmes exclusivement aquatiques, si bien que l'écologie des rivières et des fleuves n'a longtemps pris en compte pour expliquer les relations des organismes aquatiques avec leur milieu que des paramètres physiques locaux. Récemment, le concept de continuum fluvial a introduit l'idée que les processus biologiques sont également fortement influencés par les relations transversales entre la rivière, ses rives et sa vallée. Ainsi, la ripisylve influence l'écosystème aquatique du fait de l'effet combiné de l'ombre des arbres ; des feuilles mortes qui tombent dans l'eau, (source de nourriture) ;de l'apport de matière organique sous forme d'invertébrés terrestres ; de bois mort qui crée une grande variété d'habitats. De ce fait, le rôle de la ripisylve est majeure pour les petits cours d'eau et les fleuves, tant sur le plan de la diversité des habitats que de l'apport de matière organique comme source primaire d'énergie et de nourriture pour les poissons.
