Abstract

La interacción entre las bacterias y el sistema inmune va a determinar el equilibrio entre el estado de salud y enfermedad. Este hecho es todavía mas patente cuando las propias bacterias que conviven en un estado de mutuo beneficio con nuestro organismo, se desarrollan de forma masiva y causan infecciones. Es el caso de streptococcus pneumoniae que aun formando parte de nuestra flora habitual es también la bacteria que mas comúnmente causa neumonías, otitis medias, y meningitis. Los antibióticos influyen en este sistema de interacciones desplazando el equilibrio en contra de las bacterias. Entre estos tres elementos, sistema inmune, microorganismos, y antimicrobianos se establecen una serie de relaciones que son las que se estudian en este trabajo. En la mayoria de los casos se evidencia un sinergismo entre los neutrofilos y los antibióticos utilizados en el estudio (amoxicilina, amoxicilina/clavulanico y cefotaxima) en la eliminacion de s. Pneumoniae, que varia dependiendo, sobre todo, de la cepa de la bacteria utilizada
