Abstract

Se definen las características que deben de tener las actividades para la enseñanza del español, más concretamente en estudiantes adultos, que pasan de cinco a seis horas consecutivas en el aula. Así surge el Enfoque Comunicativo Interactivo (ECI), basado en la idea de que un idioma se aprende hablando dentro de una dinámica interactiva en la que el profesor y el estudiante deben implicarse de lleno en un proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje cooperativo, el alumno ha de mostrar un interés particular, mientras que el profesor debe hacer hincapié en los diferentes aspectos humanos, sobre todo el cognitivo, el afectivo y el comunicativo dentro de un determinado contexto social y cultural. Este trabajo de investigación se complementó con dos encuestas: una a 42 docentes de idiomas cuya mayoría confía en la estrategia comunicativa; y la otra, para confirmar que los factores extralingüísticos como la motivación y la empatía son muy importantes y se erigen como la dimensión afectiva dentro y fuera del aula. También, consolidamos una buena base de datos al grabar a 46 estudiantes norteamericanos, quienes a través de sus diálogos y entrevistas establecieron el avance de su nivel de aprendizaje. El objetivo del ECI (Enfoque Comunicativo Interactivo) es desarrollar un proceso cognitivo para estimular las capacidades estratégicas del discente y promover un aprendizaje significativo. Excepto cuatro estudiantes que no consiguieron el anhelado nivel 3 que requieren, los que han recibido la enseñanza del español a través de esa metodología han aprobado su examen, lo que confirma su validez.
