Nuevas estrategias para el control de la nosemosis en Apis mellifera L.

Abstract

La muerte de las colonias es un mecanismo multifactorial dentro del cual participan los patógenos de las abejas, como Nosema ceranae. Este microsporidio ha demostrado su acción patógena mediante la disminución de la productividad y viabilidad de las colonias a las que infecta, llegando incluso a producir su muerte.En el presente trabajo se analizan distintas estrategias para el control de la nosemosis. La primera de ellas se basa en el desarrollo de medidas profilácticas para lo cual fue necesaria la puesta apunto de una metodología que evalúa la capacidad esporicida de varios productos para su uso en la limpieza del material apícola. Mediante la metodología desarrollada se evaluó positivamente la eficacia de varios productos de uso doméstico como el amoniaco, lejía y ácido acético para la desinfección del material apícola, eliminando las esporas de N. ceranae. Otros productos comerciales como el Mycoplasma OFFTM también surten el mismo efecto. Las técnicas profilácticas deben formar parte del control integral de enfermedades ya que evitan la entrada y difusión del patógeno de manera antropogénica, disminuyendo el riesgo de infección en individuos sanos...
