El inmerecido olvido. Arte y legitimidad de Ana y Giovanna de Austria, las hijas bastardas de Juan de Austria, en las cortes europeas de los Habsburgo

Abstract

Esta contribución se ocupa de las hermanas Ana (h. 1568-1629) y Giovanna de Austria (1573-1630), hijas bastardas de don Juan de Austria (1547-1578). El objetivo es analizar las redes de poder femenino en las cortes europeas de los Habsburgo a través de la interpretación de algunas cartas inéditas escritas por Ana localizadas en los archivos granadinos y vieneses. En paralelo, se propone una reconstrucción de la amplia red de contactos, regios y de otro tipo, que ambas hermanas mantuvieron a lo largo de sus vidas. Estas reflexiones pretenden vehicular nuevos estudios acerca de ambas y potenciar las investigaciones sobre sus estrategias de legitimación a través del patronazgo artístico como descendientes de la familia imperial de los Habsburgo.
