Abstract

El presente estudio toma como lugar de estudio el tajo Cerro Verde - fase 5, ejecutado el día domingo 13 de octubre del 2013, considerando el tipo de roca correspondiente a esa fase y el tipo de explosivo recomendado por ORICA, se evaluó la relación entre la velocidad de detonación constante dentro de la columna de carga en los taladros del proyecto CV 2138-0012, y la fragmentación de la roca circundante a estos taladros, empleando una mezcla explosiva gasificada heavy ANFO con una composición del 65% de emulsión a base de nitrato de amonio y el 35% restante de ANFO, con el objetivo de determinar la relación que existe entre la velocidad de detonación y la fragmentación resultante, empleando de 5 a 10 m de cable resistivo conectado a un dispositivo de VOD-microtrap, considerando principalmente los primeros 5 metros de reacción de la columna de carga, donde la detonación del booster inicia la columna de carga, permitiendo registrar la velocidad de detonación de ese primer tramo de la columna de carga, el cual se conoce como plano Chapman-Jouguet y asegura que la mezcla explosiva detone a su régimen optimo produciendo una fragmentación óptima.
