Domestication / fabrication du vivant et science-fiction

Abstract

Le workshop « Domestication / fabrication du vivant et science-fiction » (CNRS-PSL-Le Cube) se propose de réfléchir aux pouvoirs de l'homme sur le vivant et aux possibles que l'humanité a explorés ou pourrait explorer dans ce domaine : comment le possible biologique s'envisage selon les époques et les cultures ? Comment la conception que l’on en a libère ou enferme la créativité scientifique et notre façon de l’appréhender ? Si le workshop privilégie l’une des modalités de la science-fiction, à savoir celle liée à l’image et à l'audiovisuel, il ne s’y restreint pas pour autant. Il s’agira ainsi d’examiner la façon dont la manipulation du vivant est mise en scène dans les œuvres du genre : y a-t-il des thèmes privilégiés ? Dans quelle mesure est-il fidèlement rendu compte de la science ? Comment sont présentés les rapports entre science et société ? etc.
