Une fouille, réalisée en 2007 par le Service Archéologique de la Ville de Lyon dans le secteur de Lyon-Vaise, a permis la découverte de plusieurs vestiges antiques, dont celle d’une zone funéraire datée du iie s. ap. J.-C. L’une des sépultures à incinération en urne a livré, déposé en offrande, un unguentarium en verre comportant une marque complète sur le fond. L’étude de cet artefact et sa comparaison avec les autres marques similaires connues à ce jour viennent enrichir le catalogue des unguentaria en verre à fond marqué et apportent de nouvelles données quant à leur diffusion dans l’Empire romain.

Bei der Ausgrabung, die von der archäologischen Mannschaft von Lyon in 2007 unternommen wurde, wurden mehrere antike Überreste, besonders ein Friedhof aus dem zweiten Jahrundert nach Christus, in der Gegend von Lyon-Vaise, entdeckt. Die Grabstätte einer Einäschrung enthält als Opfergabe ein Glasunguentarium mit einem kompletten Zeichen auf dem Boden. Die Untersuchung dieses neuen Zeichens und der Vergleich mit anderen ähnlichen heutzutage bekannten Zeichen, erweitert die Sammlung von Unguentaria und bringt neue Information über ihre Verteilung in dem weströmischen Reich mit.

While excavating in the Lyon Vaise district in 2007, the Archaeological service of Lyon City discovered several antique remains. Among these vestiges, was a funerary area dating from the 2nd century A.D. A glass unguentarium, used as an offering and bearing a complete mark on its bottom was found in one of the cremation burials. The study of this find and its comparison with other similar known marks will complete the catalogue of marked unguentaria. Moreover it constitutes new data as to their diffusion across the Roman Empire.
