Individu – individualisme – individualité

Abstract

Le commerce de l'homme avec le monde est marqué par sa rencontre avec des objets singuliers. Les objets sont donc, considérés logiquement, des individua : les éléments dont le monde est fait. Dans l'ontologie sociale, nous sommes confrontés à un concept de l'individu plus ambitieux qui engage notre auto-compréhension comme êtres humains. Le principe de leur individualité n'est pas la simple continuité d'existence dans le temps et dans l'espace, mais l'unité de la conscience de soi. Pour ce qui est des personnes, tout ce qui est numériquement un n'est pas encore individuel. Sur cet arrière-plan, le concept de l'individualité a été marqué comme un concept critique. Le 17e Colloque Philosophique International d'Evian invite des philosophes au bord du lac de Genève pour discuter du concept d'individualité dans tout l'éventail de ses significations.
