Abstract

Le rôle joué par les organisations de jeunesse dans la dynamique de la construction européenne demeure, à bien des égards, mal connu. Certes, on n’ignore pas que les jeunes ont pu être les cibles privilégiées d’actions visant à la réconciliation ou au rapprochement des peuples européens. Au lendemain des deux guerres mondiales, par exemple, diverses initiatives, publiques ou privées, confient ainsi à la jeunesse la responsabilité de réparer les fautes commises par ses pères. On en sait moins, en revanche, sur la manière dont les mouvements de jeunesse ont pu mener une réflexion propre sur les buts et modalités de la construction européenne, et être à la source de diverses réalisations. C’est à l’étude de ces relations entre militantisme européen et organisations de jeunesse, des années 20 aux années 60, qu’est consacrée cette journée d’étude.
