Tratamiento de aguas residuales por radiación gamma

Abstract

Se evalúa la tratabilidad de las aguas residuales mediante radiación gamma para su reuso en riego agrícola. Se realizó mediciones de los indicadores de contaminación física, química, biológica y microbiológica. Paro esto se irradiaron muestras provenientes del complejo de tratamiento de aguas residuales de San Juan de Miraflores hasta una dosis de 52.5 kGy. El estudio concluye que la radiaci6n gamma es efectiva para remover parásitos y bacterias, más no para la remoción de materia orgánica e inorgánica.

Premiado al mejor trabajo presentado al XXII Congreso Interamericano de Ingeniería Sanitaria y Ambiental, San Juan de Puerto Rico, 9-14 de setiembre 1990, Puerto Rico.
