Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is one of the most common and disabling lesions in the soccer practice. The injury incidence of this ligament is around 1,3% - 3,7% due to more than 265 million soccer players injured in 2006. This number has increased significantly in the last year. For this reason is very important to know the factors and triggering mechanisms of the injury. Turning movements with direction changes during the running, monopodal reception after the jump or movements during the shoot are the most common injuries of soccer players. A right assessment is needed to approach the causes of ACL injuries because this prevention plan must be specific for each soccer player. The proposal of this final work is to analyse the risk factors and injury mechanisms for the development of a right prevention plan in order to avoid future injuries. From the present studies, we have developed a post-treatment protocol, which includes a comprehensive assessment for the athlete, together with a prevention plan for ACL injury in soccer practice.
