RESUMEN: La histerectomía es el proceso quirúrgico el cual se encarga de extirpar el útero ya sea de forma parcial, total o radical. Esta está indicada cuando la mujer padece dolor provocado por miomas, tumores, cáncer del cuello del útero o de ovario y endometriosis. Actualmente, existen diferentes procedimientos para realizar la cirugía pudiendo realizarse vía vaginal, abdominal o por robótica. La intensidad del dolor postquirúrgico irá relacionada según la técnica usada en la intervención, el tipo de histerectomía y la analgesia administrada. Es importante conocer la cirugía para así poder prevenirlo desde la etapa prequirúrgica y poder controlarlo mejor en la fase postoperatoria. ABSTRACT Hysterectomy is the surgical process which is responsible for removing the uterus either partially, totally or radically. This is indicated when the woman suffers pain caused by fibroids, tumours, cancer of the cervix or ovary, endometriosis. Currently, there are different procedures to perform the surgery can be performed vaginally, abdominal or robotic. The intensity of post-surgical pain will be related to the technique used in the intervention, the type of hysterectomy and the analgesia administered. It is important to know the surgery in order to prevent it from the preoperative stage and to be able to control it better in the postoperative phase.
