Mucormicosis Rinosinusorbitaria: Presentación de dos casos

Abstract

Introduction. Mucormycosis is an acute infection caused by fungi of the order Mucorales that colonize the respiratory and intestinal tracts of healthy people and cause disease in immunocompromised patients, being more common in those who present decompensated diabetes mellitus and less often in people with leukemia or lymphomas. Case Report: Its most common form of presentation is rhinocerebral. We present two cases of patients with mucormycosis: a patient with diabetes with ketoacidosis and another one with type B acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Conclusion: mucormycosis is a condition in which they should not delay the start of treatment and multidisciplinary management.
