Abstract

La Comisión Multisectorial ENFEN mantiene el sistema de Alerta “No Activo”, debido a que se observan, en promedio, condiciones neutras en la temperatura superficial del mar frente a la costa peruana y considera más probable que estas se mantengan hasta fin de año. Se espera la llegada de una onda Kelvin fría entre setiembre y octubre que podría disminuir ligeramente la temperatura del mar y aire en la costa peruana. Para el próximo verano, en el Pacífico central (región Niño 3.4) son más probables las condiciones Neutras (62%), seguidas de condiciones El Niño débil (18%); en tanto que, para el Pacífico oriental (región Niño 1+2, que incluye la costa peruana) son más probables las condiciones Neutras (64%), seguidas de condiciones La Niña débil (21%). Si bien actualmente no se observa la presencia de un evento El Niño o La Niña, es oportuno recomendar que se realicen las labores de prevención que permitan disminuir la vulnerabilidad frente a estos fenómenos naturales.
