Abstract

Hoy en día la acuicultura es una actividad conocida como el cultivo de los peces, crustáceos y moluscos tanto en aguas marinas como en aguas continentales, está tomando gran importancia en todo el mundo dada la carencia de alimentos especialmente con proteínas baratas de alta calidad, debido a la explosión demográfica en que vivimos, ya que la producción agrícola no aumenta en relación directa a la necesidad de las poblaciones en muchas regiones del mundo; por ende la acuicultura surge como una gran alternativa de solución, para el desarrollo de la maricultura es necesario el conocimiento científico ya que sin ella, no podríamos proyectarnos a obtener producciones planificadas, no olvidemos que tanto los reproductores y la semilla provienen del mar, fuente que con el tiempo sufrirán el agotamiento de los recursos marinos y con ello se dará origen a la aparición de laboratorios que con lleven a la obtención de reproductores y la semilla en forma, artificial, haciendo posible que se ubiquen las plantas tanto en tierra como en el mar para desarrollar a plenitud el proceso tecnológico aplicando correctamente los conocimientos adquiridos hasta alcanzar la producción final.
