Diversidad de yuca (Manihot esculenta crantz) en Jenaro Herrera, Loreto - Perú

Abstract

Tradicionalmente, se cultivan 14 variedades de yuca en suelos de altura y 24 variedades en suelos de restinga. Las características diferenciales entre variedades son: lóbulos de las hojas – lineales, lanceoladas, aovadas y elípticas-; número de lóbulos – 3 a 7 por hoja-; color verde claro, verde oscuro y morado-; color del tallo – prado, verde negruzco y blanco-; color de los frutos – verde, verde amarillento y morado, con aristas de color rojo, verde rosado-; tamaño del fruto – 1,0 a 2,5 cm de largo-; la altura de las plantas – 1,6 a 4,0 m-; de aspecto erecto; con 2 ó 3 ramas, raíces de 20 – 46 cm de largo, la corteza parda; el felodermo de color morado, rosado y blanco y el cilindro central, en la mayoría de variedades, es blanco.
