Nazizm İdeolojisinde Alman Kadınları: "Nsfrauen-Warte" Propaganda Dergisi Üzerine İnceleme

Abstract

The Nazism ideology idealizedGerman women as a good mother, a good wife and a good patriot. The Naziseffectively used propaganda for the German young girls to be shaped in linewith the Nazism ideology by effectively using the mass media tools. One of themost effective propaganda weapons used by Nazi propaganda in this process wasthe German women's magazine "NS-Frauen-Warte", which was periodicallypublished under the NSDAP (National Socialist German Workers' Party). The Nazisintended to influence German women through written and visual codes in themagazine. In this study, how and in what direction the NS-Frauen-Warte magazineinfused the Nazism ideology to German women. For this purpose, 6 cover images(German Mother, German Family, German Sportswoman, German Farmer, German Nurse,German Worker) of NS-Frauen-Warte, which was determined by Calvin College inthe study, was examined by using the semiotic analysis method in qualitativeresearch methods. The cover images were analyzed in the light of the semioticsperceptivity of the French Linguist Roland Barthes. According to the findings,it was found that German women were presented as a good mother, a good athleteand a good wife before the war; as a good patriot who fought for Nazi Germanyduring the war in the propaganda magazine. It is aimed to impose Nazismideology on German women via posters.
