Abstract

La presente investigación fue realizada en el Laboratorio de Dendrocronología del Instituto Argentino de Nivología, Glaciología y Ciencias Ambientales IANIGLA, CONICET Mendoza, Argentina, cuyo objetivo fue determinar el efecto de la gradiente altitudinal en el crecimiento radial de C. nebulosa, C. angustifolia y C. odorata de bosques montanos tropicales de selva central del Perú. A través del uso de la dendrocronología, entre los resultados más importantes se puede destacar que la tasa de crecimiento de las poblaciones estudiadas es diferente en cada lugar, y que el cambio en el crecimiento radial a lo largo de la gradiente altitudinal para las especies C. nebulosa, C. angustifolia y C. odorata está regulado diferencialmente por los factores ambientales de temperatura y precipitación de acuerdo a la ubicación en la gradiente y a las respuestas fisiológicas de cada especie. El crecimiento de las poblaciones tiende a disminuir a lo largo del gradiente de altura asociado a las variaciones climáticas; de la misma manera dos especies diferentes C. angustifolia y C. nebulosa en el mismo piso altitudinal no responden a las mismas variables climáticas. Por lo tanto, las diferentes condiciones ambientales a lo largo de la gradiente generan crecimientos diferentes en los bosques montanos de selva central.
