Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the effects about the value of the micro-shear bond strength after treating hydrofluoric acid with three different concentrations and one-step and two-step silane. Materials and methods: The working group will develop ceramic blocks measuring 12 x 7 x 2 cubic millimeters. The surfaces of the ceramics were etched with the 3 concentrations of hydrofluoric acid, they will be placed in a template attached to the micro-shearing machine (ODEME), a force of 500 was applied to each tygon Newton at a crosshead speed of 0.75 millimeters through a 7-inch orthodontic wire until a fracture of the adhesive interface between the ceramic and resin cement was achieved. The values were recorded in Megapascals. Results: The values of resistance of union to the micro-shear do not present a significant difference when the silane of 1 step is applied with different concentrations of hydrofluoric acids 5%, 9% and 10%. Similarly, there is no significant difference when two-step silane is applied with different concentrations of hydrofluoric acids 5%, 9% and 10%. Conclusion: There is no difference on the immediate bond strength values in lithium disilicate ceramics when using one-step or two-step silane, or with different concentrations of hydrofluoric acid 5%, 9%, 10%.
