Sobrevida global en pacientes portadores de linfoma asociado a VIH y coinfección por VEB

Abstract

En nuestro país, el cáncer y la infección por el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH) constituyen dos grandes problemas de salud pública pese a los esfuerzos del Estado por mejorar las estrategias de abordaje de estas enfermedades. En este sentido, existe un grupo de pacientes a quienes se les diagnostica Linfoma No Hodgkin en el contexto de una infección por VIH, que por dicha condición tiene peor pronóstico. A esto, se agrega la posibilidad de la presencia del virus del Epstein Barr (VEB) relacionado con el proceso de oncogénesis, el mismo que ya ha demostrado influir negativamente en la sobrevida de pacientes inmunocompetentes portadores de Linfoma No Hodgkin. El presente estudio es de tipo analítico retrospectivo, cuyo objetivo principal es determinar la sobrevida global de los pacientes diagnosticados de Linfoma No Hodgkin asociado a VIH entre los años 2013 y 2018 en el Hospital Cayetano Heredia, comparándola en función a la presencia o ausencia de infección por VEB, así como, conocer la frecuencia de esta coinfección y las características epidemiológicas, clínicas y patológicas de esta entidad en nuestro país.
