Abstract

Introducción: La presencia de betalactamasas de espectro extendido en microorganismos de alta prevalencia como la Escherichia coli, plantea retos terapéuticos, la asociación entre hospitalización previa y E. coli ya está determinada, pero el tiempo de esta asociada a este riesgo no se encuentra estudiada. Objetivo: Determinar si existe asociación entre tiempo de hospitalización previa e infección de vías urinarias por E. coli BLEE. Método: estudio analítico, observacional, caso control. Participantes: El tamaño muestral es de 101 sujetos para grupo casos y 101 sujetos para grupo control de niños menores de 14 años con infección de vías urinarias que acuden al Hospital Cayetano Heredia. Participaran aquellos pacientes pediátricos que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Los datos serán recopilados de historias clínicas, en una ficha de recolección de datos. Se buscará asociación mediante el uso de Odds Ratio y la prueba de regresión logística para controlar los factores confusores. Este conocimiento nos llevaría a comprender como la hospitalización previa, determinada por el tiempo de esta se asocia a infección de vías urinarias por E. coli BLEE en nuestra población local.
