Evaluación del efecto del programa Juntos en relación a la salud materno infantil

Abstract

En el mundo, los programas de transferencias monetarias condicionadas (TMC) han mostrado tener impacto en la salud materna-infantil. El objetivo de este estudio es evaluar el efecto de Juntos, el programa de TMC en el Perú, en la salud materno infantil. Se usó la Encuestas Demográficas y de Salud Familiar del Perú (ENDES) (2005-2014) y para el análisis se utilizó la metodología de paramiento por puntaje de propensión y análisis de diferencias en diferencias. El análisis de paramiento por puntaje de propensión mostró que Juntos a nivel individual reduce el bajo peso en las mujeres (PR:0.39; IC95%:0.18-0.85) y de forma marginal la anemia en los niños (PR:0.93; IC95%:0.86-1.00). En el análisis de diferencias en diferencias se encontró que en los distritos implementados por Juntos se redujo la prevalencia de anemia en mujeres (coeficiente = -0.097; IC del 95% = -0.194 - -0.001) y niños (coeficiente = -0.139; IC del 95% = -0.275 - -0.003), pero aumento la prevalencia de sobrepeso en mujeres (coeficiente = 0.108; IC del 95% = 0.008 - 0.208). También se encontró que los beneficiarios de Juntos si cumplen con las corresponsabilidades que les pide el programa en relación a partos institucionales, control de crecimiento y desarrollo del niño en el centro de salud y cumplimiento con el calendario de vacunas del niño.
