Evaluación a triple ciego de la concentración de fluoruro en pastas dentales de mayor consumo en Lima-Metropolitana, 2018

Abstract

Objetivo: Evaluar la concentración de fluoruros presentes en pastas dentales de mayor consumo en Lima – Metropolitana, Perú. Materiales y Métodos: 57 muestras de pastas dentales se evaluaron en base a la metodología “Muestreo por lotes para evaluar la calidad” (LQAS) para tres marcas diferentes, y por cada grupo, 19 de un mismo lote de producción. Se utilizó el método potenciométrico directo con electrodo de ion selectivo de fluoruro, para hallar la concentración de fluoruros total (FT), fluoruro soluble total (FST) e iónico (Fi). Resultados: La concentración promedio de FT de pastas dentales formulado solo con MFP (1500ppmF) fue de 1471.8 ± 32.41 ppm, el grupo solo con NaF (1450ppmF) tuvo un promedio 1479.5 ± 30.38 ppm y el grupo con MFP (0.76%) y NaF (0.1%) (1540ppmF) mostró un promedio de 1391 ± 41.39 ppm. Se uso la prueba ANOVA de una vía (p ˂ 0.05) para comparar las medias por marcas. Solo el lote de pastas dentales con sales fluoradas combinadas tuvo el 68.42% (13 unidades) de incumplimiento respecto a lo indicado por el fabricante. Conclusiones: Las concentraciones de FT en promedio de las pastas formuladas con un solo tipo de fluoruro están en el rango establecido. Sin embargo, el fluoruro biodisponible, calculado como Fi, solo supera los 1000ppm cuando esta formulado con NaF. Se recomienda actualización de normativas nacionales en cuanto a dentífricos fluorados, y efectuar un control permanente por la instancia correspondiente respecto a la composición y nivel efectivo de fluoruro soluble.
