Abstract

In Peru, there are three Human Milk Banks that are key players in neonatal health, since they ensure the feeding of premature infants with low birth weight or other risk characteristics that prevent them from being breastfed by their own breast milk. Mothers. In this sense, the present study highlights this specialized center and will determine the cost of production of the Human Milk Bank (BLH) service of the Hospital Nacional Docente Madre Niño San Bartolome, a level III-E health facility, in the 2019 period. To do this, through the application of the Process Cost System, the production cost of the three areas that make up the BLH was accumulated and assigned: Milk Procurement, Processing and Fractionation, to later quantify the cost of Milk human. The results obtained were that the unit cost per liter (1L) of Pasteurized and released Human Milk corresponds to S S/. 867.273 and the cost of an ounce (30 ml) is S/. 26.01.
