Conocimiento relacionado a los accidentes por la araña casera (Loxosceles laeta) en pobladores de los departamentos de la selva del Perú reportado en la Encuesta Nacional de Programas Presupuestales 2019

Abstract

El objetivo del estudio fue determinar el conocimiento, acerca de los accidentes por araña casera (Loxosceles laeta), que posee la población que habita en los departamentos de la selva peruana, según el reporte de la Encuesta Nacional de Programas Presupuestales 2019 (ENAPRES 2019) desarrollada por el Instituto Nacional de Estadística e Informática (INEI). Se estudió el reconocimiento de la araña casera como venenosa, síntomas, acciones tras una picadura, reconocimiento de los lugares donde se esconde la araña y conocimiento sobre la manera de evitar la picadura, según departamentos de la selva peruana (Amazonas, San Martín, Loreto, Ucayali, Madre de Dios), zona (rural o urbana) y estrato socioeconómico (A, B, C, D). La araña Loxosceles laeta fue reconocida como venenosa con mayor frecuencia en el departamento de San Martín (55.4%), en área rural (53.5%) y en el estrato socioeconómico E (46.6%). Los signos clínicos más reconocidos fueron los escalofríos, fiebre y sudoración (38.8%), dolor en la zona de la mordedura (36.1%) e hinchazón en la zona de la picadura (15.7%). El 86.3% de los encuestados acudirían al centro de atención médica posterior a un accidente por picadura de araña. Se identificó que los rincones de las habitaciones (55.3%), en los techos de las habitaciones (45.4%) y detrás, debajo y dentro de los muebles (37.1%) fueron los lugares donde se esconde la araña. Las medidas para evitar la mordedura del L. laeta, reconocido fue limpiar con frecuencia los rincones de las habitaciones (46.5%), fumigar la vivienda (46.9%) y limpiar con frecuencia los techos de las habitaciones (36.3%). Se espera que los resultados del estudio sirvan para valorar y priorizar la necesidad de capacitar a la población a fin de prevenir estos accidentes en la población de la selva peruana.

The objective of the study was to determine the knowledge about accidents caused by house spiders (Loxosceles laeta), possessed by the population that lives in the departments of the Peruvian jungle, according to the report of the National Survey of Budget Programs 2019 (ENAPRES 2019). developed by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI). The recognition of the house spider as poisonous, symptoms, actions after a bite, recognition of the places where the spider hides and knowledge about how to avoid the bite were studied, according to departments of the Peruvian jungle (Amazonas, San Martín, Loreto , Ucayali, Madre de Dios), zone (rural or urban) and socioeconomic stratum (A, B, C, D). The spider Loxosceles laeta was recognized as poisonous with greater frequency in the department of San Martín (55.4%), in rural areas (53.5%) and in the socioeconomic stratum E (46.6%). The most recognized clinical signs were chills, fever and sweating (38.8%), pain in the area of the bite (36.1%) and swelling in the area of the bite (15.7%). 86.3% of those surveyed would go to the medical care center after a spider bite accident. The corners of the rooms (55.3%), on the ceilings of the rooms (45.4%) and behind, under and inside the furniture (37.1%) were identified as the places where the spider hides. The measures to avoid the bite of L. laeta, recognized were frequently cleaning the corners of the rooms (46.5%), fumigating the house (46.9%) and frequently cleaning the ceilings of the rooms (36.3%). It is expected that the results of the study will serve to assess and prioritize the need to train the population in order to prevent these accidents in the population of the Peruvian jungle.
