Abstract

Background: Restorative materials have been developed to provide greater longevity since the bond strength of the restorative material is one of the most important factors in the choice. Objective: To determine the bond strength of the conventional two-step adhesive system on the injected and machined lithium disilicate surface. Materials and methods: The study was experimental (in vitro), the sample consisted of 20 lithium disilicate discs, IPS e.max CAD (Ivoclar Vivadent, Liechtenstein, Switzerland) and IPS e. max Press (Ivoclar Vivadent), 12 mm in diameter and 1 mm thick, were bonded to resin blocks with the following protocols: Injected or machined lithium disilicate + 10 % hydrofluoric acid for 20 seconds + silane + Magic Bond DE (Coltene) or Bond 2.1 (Maquira) adhesive. Results: Group A-1 obtained mean bond strength values (6.81 ± 3.87Ba). Group A-2 obtained a value of (09.84 ± 4.08Aa). Group B-1 the value of (7.73 ± 3.01Ba). Group B-2 the value of (11.35 ± 4.74Aa). Conclusion: According to the protocol used in this research, in both Magic Bon (Coltene) dand Bond 2.1 (Maquira) adhesive, the machined lithium disilicate ceramic obtained better bond strength value.
