Nullipar gebelerde emzirme eğitiminin doğum sonrası emzirme durumuna etkisi

Abstract

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of breastfeeding training given to nulliparous pregnant women on postnatal breastfeeding between 03.10.2017-03.05.2019 is an experimental clinical trial conducted at the Maternity Hospital and Gynecology Clinic of T.C. Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Hospital. A total of 100 pregnant women participated in this study, 50 of them were experimental and 50 of them were control group. Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale (antenatal) - Short Form was applied to all pregnant women before birth.Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale (postnatal) - Short Form and LATCH Scale were administered to the mothers in the first 24 hours postpartum period. Mann-Whitney U test was used for paired groups and Krusskal-Wallis test was used for more than two groups. The mean score of Antenatal Breastfeeding Scale 65.84 ± 4.21, Postnatal score 67.34 ± 3.05, Latch score 8.56 ± 1.29 of the education group. The mean score of Antenatal Breastfeeding Scale 41.16 ± 7.95, Postnatal score 41.78 ± 9.26 Latch score 6.58 ± 1.62 of the non-educated group. A significant difference was found in the comparison of the mean scores of Antenatal, Postnatal and Latch scales of the educated and untrained groups (p <0.05). The number of studies of breastfeeding training in nulliparous pregnant women is limited. Breastfeeding training in antenatal period has a positive effect on the success of breastfeeding and breastfeeding self-efficacy of nulliparous pregnant women with no experience of breastfeeding. Therefore, it is recommended that all pregnant women receive breastfeeding training during antenatal period. Keywords: Antenatal education, breastfeeding education, mode of delivery, breastfeeding process, breastfeeding self-efficacy
