Inequidades en la educación

Abstract

Este estudio presenta el estado actual de cuatro grupos delimitados por género, etnicidad, pobreza y discapacidad, en los que, a partir de la normativa educativa e indicadores de acceso, rendimiento y oportunidades de aprendizaje, se exploran las inequidades educativas existentes. Además, se analiza el contenido de la Ley de Reforma Magisterial. Los resultados muestran que, si bien no existen grandes diferencias en los indicadores educativos entre hombres y mujeres, sí hay otro tipo de inequidades, como los estereotipos tradicionales que se siguen reforzando en la escuela. Respecto a la etnicidad, se encontró que, cuando su situación es comparada con la del resto de la población, tanto los indígenas como los afrodescendientes enfrentan brechas en el acceso a la educación, las oportunidades y el rendimiento. Asimismo, los estudiantes pobres acceden en menor medida a la educación secundaria, y asisten a escuelas que cuentan con menores recursos y cuyos docentes están menos capacitados. En la misma línea, los estudiantes discapacitados alcanzan menores niveles educativos, y se encuentran con infraestructuras inadecuadas, materiales no especializados y docentes poco preparados.
