On the Turkish Clerodendrum L. (Verbenaceae)

Abstract

Clerodendrum, Verbenaceae familyasına ait büyük bir cinstir. Bu cins, Asya’ nın ve Orta Amerika’ nın tropik ve subtropik bölgelerinde geniş yayılış gösterir. Yaklaşık 400 kadar türe sahiptir. Kültüvarlarla birlikte bu sayı 560’ a çıkar. C. bungei ve C. trichotomum türleri ülkemizde ilk olarak park ve bahçelerde yetiştirilmiştir. Bununla birlikte C. bungei son yıllarda Karadeniz bölgesinde doğallaşmıştır. Cinsin ve bu iki türün betimi yapılmış ve yayılışları gösterilmiştir.

Clerodendrum (Verbenaceae) is a widespread genus throughout tropic and subtropic regions of Asia and Mesoamerica. It has more or less 400 species which is increase up to 560 together with cultivars. Firstly, C. bungei and C. trichotomum have been cultivated as an ornamental plants in parks and gardens in Turkey. However, C. bungei was naturalized for last decades in Black Sea region. Descriptions and distributions of these taxa are given.
