El emergentismo de los procesos mentales

Abstract

Dentro de las diferentes propuestas para abordar el problema mente cerebro, se examina la propuesta que se ubica dentro del emergentismo de los procesos mentales. El tema es investigado desde le metodología filosófica sistémica en la que se elabora una red conceptual constituida por componentes de tipo histórico, ontológico, neurocientífico y filosófico. Aunque se presentan de manera separada, todos ellos interactúan y contribuyen a la aclaración del problema. El resultado de la investigación permite afirmar que los procesos mentales, en primer lugar, son el resultado de un largo y azaroso proceso evolutivo; en segundo lugar, que dichos procesos son propiedades de sistemas factuales complejos que tienen un carácter emergente respecto a los procesos cerebrales; y, en tercer lugar, que la propuesta es compatible con una concepción pluralista e integrada de la realidad.
