Abstract

Objetivos: Identificar los efectos del sulfato de magnesio en la respuesta hemodinámica durante la laringoscopia e intubación endotraqueal en pacientes sometidos a anestesia general en el Hospital Militar Central del Perú durante el periodo setiembre - octubre del 2015. Material y Métodos: Estudio de cohortes, retrospectivo, analítico, cuantitativo y no experimental en 60 pacientes sometidos a cirugía electiva bajo anestesia general; divididos en dos grupos: un grupo recibió 10 mg/kg de sulfato de magnesio durante la inducción anestésica, y el otro grupo no. Se recolectó y comparó variables clínicas, demográficas y hemodinámicas del paciente 5 minutos antes de la inducción y durante la laringoscopia e intubación. Resultados: Del total de participantes 30 correspondieron a cada grupo de tratamiento sin diferencias en características sociodemográfica. En las mediciones basales no hubo diferencias significativas en ambos grupos; luego de la laringoscopia e intubación el grupo de sulfato de magnesio presentó de manera significativa 6,7 mmHg menos de presión arterial media y 4,8 latidos por minuto menos que el control sin ningún caso de arritmia. Conclusiones: El sulfato de magnesio atenúa los efectos en la respuesta hemodinámica durante la laringoscopia e intubación endotraqueal en relación a la presión arterial y frecuencia cardiaca sin cambios en el ritmo cardiaco en comparación con el control.
