Abstract

In the thesis, primary school administrators? perception of effective school concept and their effective perception levels of existent primary schools have been examined. The study has been done in the sample of Zeytinburnu county of Istanbul city.In the study, ?literature review? and ?field research? techniques have been used in data collection. In field survey study, survey sheets have been applied to primary school administrators.At the end of the study, although some qualities (parents? relationships with school, student achievement and discipline, teachers? professional feeling of responsibility, etc.) and the dimensions relating to schools do not precisely respond the administrators? expectations, it has been observed that administrators exhibit behaviors toward to create a good working environment at schools and are open to perceive the primary schools as effective schools.Key Words: effectiveness, effective school, organizational effectiveness, effective administrator, instructional leadership

Tezde, ilköğretim okullarında görev yapan yöneticilerin, etkili okul kavramını algılayışları ile mevcut ilköğretim okullarını etkili algılama düzeyleri incelenmiştir. Çalışma İstanbul ili Zeytinburnu ilçesi örneğinde yapılmıştır.Çalışmada, verilerin toplanmasında, ?kaynak taraması? ve ?alan araştırması? teknikleri kullanılmıştır. Alan araştırmasında ilköğretim okulu yöneticilerine anket formu uygulanmıştır.Araştırma sonucunda, okullara ilişkin bazı niteliklerin (velilerin okul ile olan ilişkileri, öğrenci başarısı ve disiplini, öğretmenlerin mesleki sorumluluk duygusu vb.) ve boyutların yönetici beklentilerini tam olarak karşılamamasına rağmen, yöneticilerin okulda iyi bir çalışma ortamının oluşmasına dönük davranış sergiledikleri ve mevcut ilköğretim okullarını, etkili okul olarak algıladıkları gözlenmiştir.Anahtar Kelimeler: Etkililik, Etkili Okul, Örgütsel Etkililik, Etkili Yönetici, Öğretimsel Liderlik
