Local folk music culture of Turkish population’s villages in northeastern Bulgaria

Abstract

Обект на изследването е локална музикалнофолклорна култура на турци сунити в Североизточна България – с. Горна Хубавка, Търговищко, и близки селища. Основа на труда е собствен теренен материал, събиран от 2010 до 2018 г. Музикалната култура е представена в контекста на функционирането ѝ в миналото и в съвременността. В Увода на дисертацията са представени етномузиколожки научни подходи за изследване на локални селищни култури, дефинирани са целта и задачите на работата, уточнена е базата на изследване; посочени са използваните изследователски подходи. Първа глава разглежда обособени пространства за функциониране на селищната култура, междуселищни връзки с турската общност от съседни села, междуетнически взаимоотношения с българско население. Втора глава е свързана с календарната обредност, разделена в две групи празници – религиозни (по лунния календар) и свързани със сезонна практика, и семейната обредност в трите етапа на преход в човешкия живот: раждане, сватба, смърт. Трета глава разглежда музиката в религиозната практика и фолклора. Нотацията и анализът на музикалния материал се опират върху българската научна традиция. Разгледани са механизмите на обучение при усвояването на песенната традиция. Четвърта глава описва промени в пространствата на функциониране, календарната и семейната обредност, устойчиви елементи от традиционната култура, съхранени в съвременността, както и фактори, обуславящи разпада на традиционната култура. Заключението синтезира основни изводи.

The object of the study is local musical folklore of turkish sunnis people of northeastern Bulgaria - Gorna Hubavka village, Targovishte region, and near villages. The basis of the work is own fiel material collected from 2010 to 2018.The musical culture is presented in the context of it’s functioning in the past and the modernity. In the introduction of the dissertation are presented ethno-musicological scientific approaches for examination of local settlement cultures, the aim and the tasks of the work are defined, the basis of the research is specified, the research approaches used are pointed out. The first chapter deals with separate spaces for the functioning of the urban culture, inter-village relations with the Turkish community from neighbouring villages, interethnic relations with the Bulgarian population. The second chapter is related to the calendar ritual, divided into two groups of holidays - religious (in the lunar calendar) and related to seasonal practice, and family ritual in the three stages of the transition in human life: birth, marriage and death. Third chapter discusses music in religious practice and folklore. The notation and the analysis of the musical material are based on the Bulgarian scientific tradition. The mechanisms of training in learning the song tradition are observed.
