Taxi Compartido: ¿una cuestión de semejanzas?

Abstract

Las taxis compartidos son una tendencia que toma fuerza en la sociedad como una posible solución a los problemas de congestionamiento vehicular. Empresas como Uber y Lyfe Line lideran el mercado con aplicaciones tecnológicas que fomentan su uso; sin embargo, poco se sabe de cómo los pasajeros influyen en la intención de uso de los clientes de este servicio. Esta investigación se centra en comprender cómo el género y la raza de los pasajeros influyen en el género y la raza de quienes deciden utilizar el servicio. A través de un experimento virtual realizado en la ciudad de Lima a 187 personas, donde se utilizó imágenes tipo avatar para identificar a los posibles pasajeros y un análisis ANCOVA, se identificó que la relación entre del género del decisor y el género de los acompañantes influye en la intención de uso. A su vez, no se evidenció que la relación entre la raza del decisor y la intención de usar un servicio de taxi compartido con desconocidos sea moderada por la raza de los acompañantes, este último hallazgo puede ser motivado por la diversidad étnica de la ciudad donde se realizó el experimento.
