Abstract

Abiogenesis is the alleged process by which life was able to spontaneously generate on Earth originating from non-living material. The "Fermi Paradox" is the question in the astrobiological field that expresses the contradiction between the apparent lifelessness of the Universe and the great expectation we have of not being the only ones to inhabit it. In this paper, the concept of abiogenesis is presented and analyzed in relation to the Fermi Paradox. Finally, various possible solutions to the aforementioned paradox are discussed.
